Great news for the volunteers at Chard Museum. Thanks to a generous grant from the Architectural Heritage Fund they will shortly be embarking on a c£20,000 project to look at options and gather evidence for ways that their museum buildings and grounds might be re-imagined.
This builds on work started a few years ago under the banner ’50 Years and Beyond’, which is all about making sure the museum is delivering the sort of services that the community wants and needs.
With a range of listed buildings this particular phase of the project is really important to work out what might be technically possible to make the best of the site. It will also include work to identify ways to make the buildings more energy efficient.
Having worked with the team at Chard for a while now I’m delighted to have been asked to contribute to this next phase of 50 Years and Beyond. A great project to set off with for 2023.
